Refunds, Transfers & Deferrals

Refunds: No refunds for any reason.

Transfers: You cannot transfer your registration to another runner.

Deferrals: No deferrals to the following year, except for qualifying medical circumstances (see below).

If you can't make it, you can withdraw and receive partial credit toward a future Cielo Running event.

Withdrawal & Race Credit

Things come up. If you need to cancel, you can withdraw and recover a portion of your registration as credit toward a future event.

Credit is based on when you withdraw before race day:

• 90+ days out: 75% credit
• 45 to 89 days out: 50% credit
• Under 30 days out: no credit

Credit is valid for one year. It does not guarantee entry into a sold out race, bypass a waitlist, or let you register before a race opens.

To withdraw, email hello@cielorunning.com with your name and race.

Pregnancy Deferral

If you are expecting, you can defer your registration. Email hello@cielorunning.com and we will send you next steps. A note from your provider is required. The deferral is valid for two years.

Please notify us at least 30 days before your race date.

Inclusion & Identity

Cielo Running welcomes runners of every gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, body type, and ability level. We offer women, men, and non-binary divisions. You choose the division that fits you. We do not require documentation or verification of gender identity.

Event Changes & Cancellation

Cielo Running reserves the right to modify the course, alter distances, postpone, or cancel any event at any time if conditions are unsafe.

This includes extreme weather, severe air quality (sustained AQI above 200), wildfire danger, earthquake, landslide, flooding, storm damage, communicable illness, acts of war or terrorism, security threats, permit revocations, or any condition that makes the race impossible to run safely.

If a race cannot happen on its planned date, we will try to reschedule it in the same year. Credit and refund options for a cancelled event will be handled case by case.

Code of Conduct

Follow Leave No Trace. Treat volunteers and runners with respect. Follow all course rules and staff directions. Littering, unsportsmanlike conduct, harassment, or abuse of any kind results in disqualification.

Intellectual Property

All content on this site (text, photos, logos, design) belongs to Cielo Running, LLC. Do not reproduce or redistribute without written permission.

Privacy

When you register, we collect your name, email, date of birth, and emergency contact info. We use this to manage registration, communicate event updates, and ensure safety on race day. Emergency contact info is only accessed if a medical situation arises.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing. This site may use basic analytics to understand traffic. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

Registration data is retained for up to one year after the event. You can request deletion at any time by emailing hello@cielorunning.com.
